Timber Treatment Testing
In some cases it is needed to find out how the timber has been treated
This may help in selling the house, or to ascertain the potential of major deterioration to the timber, in other places of the property.
City Line Infrared can take samples of the timber and have them tested for the type of treatment.
We will test for:
– Chromium %
– Boric Acid %
– Copper %
– Arsenic %
– Tin %
All of which are active elements that make up different types of timber treatment.
Timber that is treated gets an H rating. Starting from H1 (least amount of treatment) used for framing, going through to H6 (the most amount of timber treatment) which is used for foundations and external wet areas.
The minimum preservative retention of boric acid in H1.2 is not less than 0.40%
The minimum preservative retention of Copper, Chromium and Arsenic in H3.2 timber is not less than 0.37% in total.
The minimum preservative retention of Tin in H1.2 is not less than 0.06%.
